Adv. Salathiel Seotsanyana is a seasoned corporate lawyer and governance specialist. He is a member of the Corporate Lawyers Association South Africa, a Certified Director with the Institute of Directors of Southern Africa (IoDSA), an accredited member of the Compliance Institute of South Africa (CISA), and an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
Salathiel’s vast experience and understanding of Corporate Law was gained through his dealings with top companies within Southern Africa. His legal career started at BBM Inc where he dealt with corporate and commercial litigation. He broadened his experience in the corporate arena while with Deloitte Forensic and Dispute Settlement Services. His growing interest in Corporate Law saw him then take up a position as CIPC’s Head of Company Capital Division where all corporate actions and company secretarial transactions are registered. It is here where, amongst many projects, he spear-headed a project to synergise all JSE, FSB, and CIPC related transactions. That experience was followed by an appointment as Governance Advisor to Eskom and the Bakgatla Ba Kgafela Tribal Authority which owns 90% of the world’s platinum reserves.
Salathiel is Managing Director at MPHAHLELE MINING CONSULTANTS (PTY) Ltd, a regulatory advisory firm that provides company secretarial services and advises industrial clients on governance and commercial legal compliance and regulation. He sat on the Advisory Board of Directors of the Institute of International Research (IIR), advising on the Governance Week 2014 conference preparation held in Johannesburg.
