Doxa is an Advocate, Notary Public and Commissioner of Oaths in Tanzania She has a BA Degree with Honours (Carleton University, Canada), LLB Honours in Law (Cardiff University, UK) and an LLM in International Economic Law (with Distinction) from Warwick University (United Kingdom).
She has over fifteen years of legal experience in private practice and in-house in multinational institutions where she has earned respect among her peers for being a very strong commercial lawyer, having been involved in some of the largest cross border lending transactions and complex corporate transactions including corporate reorganisations, bonds issuance and M & A.
Doxa joined National Bank of Commerce as Head of Legal and Company Secretary in March 2016. Prior to joining NBC, she held the same position at Citibank, Stanbic Bank and Ecobank in Tanzania, where she was exposed to banking and finance legal matters across multiple jurisdictions, including Zambia, DRC, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Doxa also worked in private practice at IMMMA Advocates (DLA Piper’s Africa), where she specialised in corporate, commercial and banking law.
Doxa is the former Chair of the Tanzania Bankers’ Association’s Legal Committee (2014 to 2016) and a former member of the Tanganyika Law Society Regional and International Affairs Committee (2017). She is currently a member of the High Court of Tanzania Commercial Court Users Committee. She was featured in the Legal 500 General Counsel Power list: Africa (2015 and 2017).
