Andrita Maharaj is Legal Counsel, Sub-Saharan Africa, for Saint-Gobain Construction Products South Africa (Pty) Ltd., (SGCPSA). She was earlier Legal Consultant for SGCPSA where she assisted in structuring, negotiating and drafting legal agreements and documentation as well as internal policy documents.
Andrita was seconded to Omnia Holdings Limited from March 1, 2016 to February 28, 2017, where she assisted in the drafting and vetting of various agreements and was responsible for identifying and mitigating legal risk for the business.
Andrita joined Webber Wentzel as a candidate attorney in 2012 where she spent the first eight months serving her articles in the pro bono department. Her second eight month rotation was spent in the technology, media, telecommunications and intellectual department. She completed her third rotation in the mergers and acquisitions department. She was appointed as an associate in Webber Wentzel in 2014.
Andrita holds a LLB degree from the University of Kwa Zulu-Natal and has successfully completed advanced company law 1 competency course from the University of Witwatersrand. She also holds a certificate for completing online training courses in protecting confidential information, anti-corruption and Saint-Gobain economic sanctions and embargoes. She is a member of the University of Witwatersrand mentorship programme and Law Society of the Northern Provinces.
